We are back again to share more messy play ideas for the sink and bath. This week we are both sharing messy science fun using some of the same ingredients, vinegar and baking soda. See how Growing a Jeweled Rose created science magic with kitchen ingredients in the bath.
Since we needed to do messy play in the grandparent’s sink, I had to carefully plan a messy activity that ended up clean. All of our messy play ideas in the sink and bath are supposed to make clean up easier, but I didn’t want to worry Grammy with one of our more wild and messy ideas.
Place the vinegar ice cubes in the sink, and allow your child to experiment with baking soda to see the reaction it has with vinegar. I told Miss E that it was vinegar not frozen water. Another idea would be to freeze different materials to see the different reactions, but we kept this experiment simple with one frozen material.
Miss E gave this science experiment in the sink her seal of approval by pronouncing that we were going to do this messy activity again soon because it was so much fun.
Don’t forget to head over to Growing a Jeweled Rose to read how her daughter learned about science in the bath.
