Many families will be going to the beach this summer. The beach is the perfect environment for unstructured play for kids.
The sand, water, and an addition of a bucket and shovel are a perfect recipe for play.
My family recently enjoy a mini beach vacation to the shores of Texas Gulf. We had no agenda except for free play on the beach with our children.
We built sandcastles.
Some of our children swam in the shallows of the ocean water.
While, we created a mini ocean for the child who wasn’t ready to dip her feet in the big ocean yet.
The sand was their canvas for sketching.
And buckets were filled over and over again with sand.
We look forward to more trips to the beach as a family. It was actually easier for us to take four kids to the beach than one child since the were wonderful playmates for each other.
At the last Outdoor Play Party, I loved the beautiful beach art linked up by Strong Start.
Much gratitude to those who contribute to The Outdoor Play Party. While all the children will be home all summer, I will be taking a break from posting The Outdoor Play Party. I look forward to returning in September with lots more outdoor play ideas.
